J.J. Abrams Hopes ‘Star Wars’ Is An Oscar Force

Now that it’s shattered box-office records and become the top-grossing movie of all time, the talk about Star Wars: The Force Awakens turns to whether the film will garner any Academy Award nominations next Thursday morning.  With positive critical response and audience raves, it would seem like a no-brainer for the Academy to show Star Wars some Oscar love, but there’s always the possibility of “blockbuster backlash” with voters.
When we spoke to director J.J. Abrams this morning during his promo blitz for new Hulu series 11.22.63, he told us he isn’t concerned about winning any Academy Awards for his efforts, but there are people who worked on the film who are definitely worthy of Oscar consideration.   (Click on the media bar below to hear J.J.
