Many parts of the Channel 3 viewing area are flooded after several days of heavy rains.
While water continues to drain, there is more rain coming perhaps as soon as tonight.
Boy Scout Road was affected, as evidenced by cars trying to navigate the flooded road.
Sections of the Ocoee River in Polk County, TN are close to cresting the banks.
There are also reports of flooding on roads in Fannin County GA and Cherokee, NC.
The U.S. Postal Service has temporarily closed the Copperhill Post Office.
“We have delivery issues in the area due to flooding,” said Maureen Oudt, Manager of Post Office Operations for the Tennessee District. “But we are making every attempt to get mail delivered where conditions are safe and mailboxes accessible.”
Earlier today, authorities stopped all in-bound and out-bound traffic in Copperhill. Out of safety concerns, USPS management decided to temporarily shutter operations at the Copperhill Post Office and relocate letter carriers to the Ducktown Post Office.
